I served this to my husband, daughter, and her husband by layering the spinach, then the chickpeas, the giardiniera, the peppers and fried shallots on the warmed bread. The harissa is the key to this dish so make or purchase one with the heat to your liking. What everybody else said, and: I think you can do giardiniera or cherry peppers but not necessarily both. I substitute gochujang for the harissa, and it's delightful, also great reheated the next day or so. I will be making this recipe for literally decades to come. My roommate made some yellow rice (raisins, turmeric, cinnamon, etc.) and it paired wonderfully. ![]() This recipes comes together in minutes and I freakin loved it. I couldn’t find store bought fried shallots so I used French’s crispy fried onions. The ingredients seem random but they all came together to make a delicious meal that I would make again. I made this after reading the good reviews. This sounded so weird abd it was! I don't find that it came together. ![]()
